If anything the influence of symfony 2+ is magnitudes bigger than Laravel. Laravel ist just a copy of all the shitty design patterns that made symfony1. But I think none of the frameworks are the reason. I think the main reason was when we left the valley of tears that was php5.

My first #RAD experiences were #activrecord w/ #symfony1 or #rails and their "magic". New versions removed what fascinated me those days. Now - from a #DDDesign-framework-agnostic-pov - I wonder if e.g. #larevil will one day remove version 2 without #activerecord and fascades.
