Odd how little #UKemplaw attention this thread has had (with the honourable exception of Saphie Ashtiany). It's an excellent potted history from which most employment lawyers could learn something.
This whole thread is an important reminder of how protections and rights for women have unfolded. Now it's become clear that sex discrimination provisions in the EqA 2010 are insuffiently robust and clear actually to protect women.
