I got told £700 compensation if baby died… my first baby died from an undiagnosed #vasapraevia at #41.5 weeks. Formal complaint concluded a “catalogue of errors” but as there are no guidelines in place to look for VP there was nothing they could of done.

Same here. Devastating that lessons aren’t learned. #vasapraevia first rupture recorded in 1801. We’ve had technology to diagnose since 1987 but the UK’s NSC still not recommending routine screening on the #NHS but also don’t tell women to pay private to rule it out.

A beautiful healthy baby born at 36 weeks #vasapraevia routine screening at 20wks gestation. Having provided advocacy & support to parents who's babies died or suffered life changing injuries, I cannot understand why we dont screen in Ireland. The benefits outweigh the harm.

Vasa praevia, diagnosed at 1st stage of labor (4 cm dilated). I performed emergency CS. Then we diagnosed velamentous cord insertion. #obstetrics #obgyn #vasapraevia #velamenouscordinsertion #cesarean #lucky

What I needed was this and answers as to why a full term healthy baby could die from an #umbilicalcordaccident that could have been prevented if #vasapraevia was ruled out when risk factors were present. Cleared #placentapraevia and unexplained, painless #bleeding in #pregnancy.
Thanks to compassionate people like you, I managed to get myself through two more pregnancies after loosing my first & only son to undiagnosed #vasapraevia. I had #placentapraevia with rainbow baby who was born at #36wks & 3rd baby was born at #39wks no complications at all!
#WhereWereYou Daughter born in June 1999 after undiagnosed #vasapraevia.Miracle she survived! Took her for another assessment that day,which thankfully,went well. Came home,phoned my late Dad,her adoring Gramps, who asked if we saw the news & to turn on tv.We'll never forget.🏴
