Champs expectations were reinforced in all areas of the school, not just classrooms, including hallways, cafeteria, playground, etc. This helped with consistency for both students and staff. #VSCCHAMPS #VCSCHAT

A2: Vocabulary can come from all areas. I am not a fan of pre-canned vocabulary nor does our curriculum have much of it. Teaching math vocabulary is a personal favorite for me. #vscchat
@DrJackson06 @cindybennettnc I am glad you are both here! #vcschat
A1: I primarily taught science and math. Vocabulary was covered every single day for both content areas. Students even kept a personal dictionary of words and illustrations they struggled with the most. #VCSChat
I like to use current political, social, and economical events to motivate my students. Just yesterday we explored the 3rd amendment of the bill of rights to a local level. #vcschat #quarteringtroops
I hope to see students respecting one another and taking ownership for their actions and choices. #VCSChat
I've wanted to join a gym, but I usually take some time to just "turn off" once I get home. #VCSchat
I like Ss to take ownership of ther learning. In 5th grade, many times we would read a nonfiction article during small group, then revisit during science. As we dissect the text, and discuss over a course of time, we (or as a small group) select the vocab words together. #VCSChat
A4: I love to have students make connections to nature as we walk around school. It was so perfect for math and science. For example, students would identify objects that had parallel lines, or perhaps use their body to demonstrate diff types of energy! #VCSChat
I track in my mind, but only set 1-2 short term goals at a time. Easy to remember and focus on. #vcschat

They ask a great question, they smile- a real smile, they offer a part of themselves (information, a snack) #VCSChat
@carolowens83 The greatest gift we can give is the idea that mistakes are a part of learning and we all make them in order to grow #VCSChat
A3 Teachers must have a willingness to learn too- its the only way we learn new things and that's critical to keeping tools current #VCSChat
