My brain can be easily triggered by lines and shapes and pixels. Sometimes it’s just being lost into the screen, listening to some wired things

its a neurological condition that effects perception!! when i listen to music or smell things i see colors, and i base my color palettes off things i like!!

Karla_kaye_'s tweet image. its a neurological condition that effects perception!! when i listen to music or smell things i see colors, and i base my color palettes off things i like!!

I do however feel her pain of not seeing the images in her head. I have probably the same condition as her, called "aphantasia". It sucks 'cause we can't form the pictures described in our heads, so highly descriptive scenes end up being hard to get through sometimes.

to be fair, the person in the screenshot states that they struggle to visualise mental imagery. it is a condition called aphantasia. maybe don’t be so judgmental.

if you’re only interested in dialogue just read theater plays

The inability to visualise things in your head, here I’m talking about the auditory equivalent. It’s surprisingly common because you don’t really have anything to compare against since you’ve never known differently so most people who have it just straight-up don’t realise

Sensory Processing Disorder! It’s most commonly seen/recognized with Autism albeit not exclusive to autism. Essentially my brain doesn’t process sensory inputs properly so instead I get to be hypersensitive to literally every sensory input😀😭

I wish I could get all the damn creativity out of my brain...but...it's like it hits a wall that disrupts the picture and then the lack of executive function and inability to keep things in proper order...like I'm quite literally dyslexic with even the steps to things...

i need to get back into some of my old creative hobbies that don't require screens bc these visual symptoms are so annoying. can't draw on my ipad with visual aura, can't do sea glass art anymore because it makes my body hurt too much... what else will disability take from me lol

Why has visual snow been so evil to me lately :((( it's all I can think about even in a bright room, if I lower my eyelids slightly my astigmatism tries to jump me, if I look at something with peripheral vision it duplicates and blurs together and EVERY light leaves an afterimage

Do be careful...I wasnt picky because I wanted to be...I could look at something and my brain would twist it to look like maggots...it still does if im not careful about what I watch or think of...I cant even watch certain meals get made which...really pisses me off...

i'm surprised the autism symptom of "thinking in pictures" doesn't get discussed more in online autism spaces cuz it was one of the first autism symptoms i learned of + i do primarily think visually and can only "think in words" when i make an active effort to

discovered I have hypophantasia (a very very weak mind’s eye). apparently it’s pretty uncommon, something like 3% of people have it so when people say to “visualize” something, they mean it literally, and they can simply do it
