The only reason PHP still exist is because of WordPress.

WordPress is one of the main reasons PHP is so widely spread across the internet.

user php hadir juga 👋 Alasan pake PHP krn sejauh ini aman utk handle 4k-an DAU, dan easy to maintain 😅

I didn't choose PHP, it chose me. I first started my web dev journey with WordPress. Then I started touching its core codes due to customisation. When it was time for me to start building softwares from scratch it became natural for me to choose PHP esp for the fact that it has…

PHP is on the way to becoming a dead language because it assumes every developer uses a Mac/linux, thereby ignoring and failing to capture 50% (Windows users) of new developers A new dev tries to set up PHP env, bashes his head for 1 hour while trying to install 10 more tools to…

Hey, PHP haters. It's not dead. Version 8.5 is out, now. I love the new pipe operator (|>), the URI extension, and the upgrades to constants. But that's not it, there's a lot to unpack here. I wrote about it on my blog:

PHP remains the GOAT. PHP doesn't care about your memory limits or explicit types 🤣😂 PHP still powers 75% of websites for a reason. Anybody relying on Cloudflare or any major "cloud" provider is at their mercy. If you're serious, you maintain you own servers from top to bottom

I'm not sure when you got into PHP, but it was deprecated for a while. I'm guessing a combo of that and instanceof being faster is why we almost never use it and most of us probably never even heard of it.

I disagree. PHP isn't actually slow...at least not compared to other scripting languages. The "PHP is slow" take mostly comes from really old benchmarks or bad setups. It's true that it's not asynchronous by default, but that's also by design and there are upsides to that…

php has gained a reputation for being slow, and the team doesn't seem to care about that. It is not asynchronous by default. The nomenclature is confusing, it seems that there is still no standard. These things drive people away and they don't even try to get to know it.

La única razón por la que un lenguaje como PHP se usa tanto es por Wordpress. Y Wordpress se está desintegrando en tiempo real. Yo solo digo que a lo mejor deberíais ir buscando cursos de Paiton 😏

Just remember that when people say things like: - "PHP is dead" - "PhP dOeSnT sCaLe" - "PHP is full of problems, use JS" ...and other nonsense... One of the world's biggest websites is going into 2024 STILL using PHP 🙃

PHP is dead! According to the internet, PHP has been dead for 15 or so years. Yet according to W3Techs.com, 76.7% of the web uses the language. Doing well for a language that's been dead for so long, hey?!

Did you know that PHP is the only language in the world with a Framework Interop Group? It's called PHP-FIG, and its goal is to define a set of coding standards for writing PHP code that promotes interoperability between different PHP frameworks and libraries. 🐘

Last week, I published a website to show how modern PHP looks like. It made it to the front page of Hacker News and started many interesting conversations. Today, I share a breakdown of how the code runs while refactoring it to make it more efficient. themsaid.com/code-on-go-wit…

On June 8th,1995, #PHP was released for the first time. Happy birthday PHP! 🐘🎂 We love you !❤️🤍🤎💙

PHP is without a doubt, a good language to learn in 2022. Believe me, people that think PHP will die will be far gone but PHP will still be around, powering more than 50% of all websites and continue to live on. #PHP #Developers

PHP is dead. Only 78.5% of websites still use it. Market share has only grown by 5% over the last decade. It's mostly found on unmaintained legacy websites like Facebook and Wikipedia.
