Today, I'm saying #WTFEvolution to Thalassocnus. This mammal lived from the Miocene to Pliocene, about 7 -3 million years ago. Thalassocnus was a giant sloth. That lived in the sea. An aquatic sloth... (image: Roman Uchytel).
Today's #WTFEvolution post features a #temnospondyl, Gerrothorax. I probably don't need to point out to you why this animal is weird (just look at it!), but I will anyway (image: Wikimedia commons).

For this week's #WTFEvolution feature I will be looking at Therizinosaurus (image by Peter Schouten). Therizinosaurus is a very weird dinosaur, for a number of reasons. Obviously, its 1 metre long claws (the largest of any animal, ever) are a good start.
#SharkFacts let's talk about the winghead shark, because they are just weird creatures that should not exist. First of all, they aren't even in the same genus as the other hammerheads #BlackSheep. Second their cephalofoil (hammer) is 40-50% of their total length #WTFEvolution?
