Well said. The use of the death penalty in our (in)justice system is abhorrent. Ledell Lee's case is just one example of the many reasons why. Further, when a person is falsely convicted, the true offender is left to victimize the public again. How is that justice or closure?
No justice system is infallible. There are many good arguments against the death penalty, but not being able to correct miscarriages of justice is, for me, still the most powerful and unanswerable argument against executing people. | nytimes.com/2021/05/07/us/…
