To all you manbabies who said my Star Wars trilogy isn't happening, here's the PROOF that I've been working on it. My friends thought it was great.
Writers should be bold enough to kill off a main character and leave them dead. Early Walking Dead and GOT did this and thereby engendered peril. Late GOT (Jon Snow) and Disney Star Wars (Palpatine) undid the franchise's earlier work. If nobody is truly at risk, fans won't care.

Cobra Kai is now on Netflix and I'd highly recommend giving it a go. It captures the spirit of the 80s Karate Kid movies, respects and develops the original characters while also introducing us to interesting new ones. Basically, it does everything Disney Star Wars failed to.
JJ Abrams pro writer's tip: Next time you get writer's block and you're not sure how to solve a problem, just have a character say "That's a good question, for another time." Then never answer said question.
As a writer, this line frustrates makes me. Essentially, JJ is saying "I acknowledge that this is an important plot point but I don't have the time or skill to explain it, so just accept it." It's treating the audience with contempt.

Took my nieces to the local Laser Quest and look who we bumped into. The girls loved Darth Vader. Rey was inside the arena. She won every game and never took a single hit.
Let's clear something up: The Fandom Menace is a group with diverse opinion (unlike the other half of the fandom). Some like TFA & Rogue One, others not. Some are hopeful for The Mandalorian, Kenobi & TROS, others less so. But we all have one shared vision: Only the best for SW.
Hi Jennifer, if you want to try and win around the many Star Wars fans who feel alienated, try casting the net further afield. There are many talented writers who are die-hard Star Wars fans and would respect the original characters and canon while developing great new stories.
