When lockdowns strike and St Kilda provide physical reaction enducing performances, the need for the monthly Archie twitter update seems hastened. So here he be, the three month little man..

Archie’s first footy match in life was Richmond belting St Kilda by 86pts in April. Sadly it also became the last match of my Dad’s life. And so, Friday night was “particularly pleasing”. Licence to wear Saints clobber all weekend granted, my son! #archbuster #happylittlesaint

Well a year is a long time in Twitter, and even longer in real life. Time for a check-in. So here’s this guy! Archie Kenneth Downer. Our little (big) man, now six weeks old, spotted here enjoying his first day of lockdown. Hope all my twitter fam are going ok #babyarchie #hellooo

Anyway, all 18 teams have won trade week until they haven’t. And we can do all this AFL-sanctioned media-dominating energy-wasting kill-every-other-sport’s-moment-in-the-sun bullshit straight after the Grand Final again next year. Ok. Bye.

That’s the sort of game I’m slightly relieved my team’s not playing finals. Genuine can’t breathe stuff! Golly.

Empty and numb. Danny was so revered at St Kilda because on field he led us beyond some of our worst, and then forever loved, promoted and defended the place like those of us off. One half of the all-time great footy bookend combos we ever saw. Thank you Spud. Vale 🔴⚪️⚫️2️⃣

Now that’s a stat!

Team USA had won 78 games in a row and was 66-0 against Australia Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Matthew Dellavedova, and crew just beat us

I’m actually a little emotional about this. Even accounting for the exhibition status, the guys who didn’t show up, and all of that. Our Men’s team’s first ever win vs the USA. Has been a long bloody road for the sport in this country to get here! Praise be #BoomersUSA

So, er, has any team ever conceded twenty one consecutive goals in league history?

Community service announcement. Ireland have England 6-42 at Lord’s in the First Test after 13 overs. And somewhere you just know Eoin Morgan is loving every minute of it #ENGvIRE

I don’t know how this will turn out, but there is some current satisfaction in the restlesness and general murmuring of discontent from the home crowd. Unhinged self-entitlement factor for free kicks also approaching Subiaco levels.. #AFLCatsSaints

Reclaiming my New Zealand birthright for a day. Amazing drama. Almost wouldn’t begrudge them winning it if Australia make it through.. #blasphemous

I have made little comment thus far on the #CWC19, but will make the observation that South Africa’s alternate kit tonight has a real Pine Lime Splice feel about it. Thank you.
