It is with great sadness we share news that our friend, and AIA President, Jernej Sluga, passed away unexpectedly on 22 June 2025. Jernej was in Lithuania for the European Disability Forum General Assembly. We send our sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

June is #AphasiaAwareness Month. #Aphasia is a communication disability affecting 350,000 #stroke survivors in the UK. #Aphasia also caused by #headinjury or another #neurologicalcondition where language centres of the brain have been damaged. Affects language not intellect!
Brilliant that @AphasiaIntl country members are participating and sharing their lived experience of #aphasia at this conference. Thank you Alexia, Jernej and Hanka. @jernej_sluga @MarinaCharala
Welcome to Prague. We are kicking off with a full plenary room and are looking forward to 1.5 days of inspiring programme filled with the latest research and best practice, with the voices of people with lived experience at its heart. #LifeAfterStroke #StrokeResearch
#ELASF2025 Inspiring to hear people with #aphasia talk about #lifeafterstroke Listening to Alexia reflecting on the benefits of taking part in research
Many congratulations Nicole Campbell @nmcnmcnmc for your recent MBE award in the King's New Year's Honours List. Your dedicated work for and with people who have #aphasia through your role as a Trustee of The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia is certainly worthy of this recognition.
