I know someone who was setup for double knee replacement. He had everything pre-approved, all in network on a 3k deductible UHC PPO. To get pre-approved he basically spent the deductible and max out of pocket on imaging, etc. Day before surgery he called to confirm... denied
Why do Americans put up with this? It’s bewildering to a Brit. Our NHS may have issues but nothing like this nonsense. And no one here has gone bankrupt because they needed medical treatment, or had a baby. And another thing- no universal maternity leave? Why?
