Don't refer to DDD by name or any of the patterns. Just ask one or two business stakeholders to provide some feedback on your assumptions. Keep doing that and make the time fun for them--colorful stickies in small quantities, which grow in number weeks in. Prepare to refactor.

2 months into TDD: Tests are hard to write & brittle. 2 years in: Tests taught me better code patterns, reduce bugs 40%-80% and eliminate fear of change. 10 years in: TDD changed my life. medium.com/javascript-sce…

I think the most important thing I take away from @trondhjort #NDCoslo talk is not to just hack away at a monolith but to have some semblance of a strategy, a map... what it should look like at the end. 👏🏼👏🏼

That wraps my time at #NDCOslo! Thank you to the organisers and sponsors, the speakers, and all the lovely people I met. Very special thanks to @ucisa: without their amazing bursary I could not have attended! #blessed -Will

The gods of security @troyhunt and @Scott_Helme wrap up #NDCOslo with an irreverent look at the murky world of SSL certification. The takeaways? Use @letsencrypt, and never post emojis on Twitter 😉

Application security should be a design concern first, rather than only tested at the end of development argues @KatyAnton #NDCOslo

Everyone's decomposing monoliths into #microservices, right? Or do they just end up as distributed monoliths? @trondhjort recommends up-front planning using #DDDesign to avoid any tears #NDCOslo

Using transient Docker containers to run integration tests over SQL Server databases is not only possible, but actually really simple! Thanks for the walkthrough @julielerman #NDCOslo

. @ethomson gave a great demo of using Azure DevOps to create deployment pipelines, even showing how you can run builds on a Commodore64 emulator! #NDCOslo

Big bang rewrites never work. Microservice migrations should be done incrementally. So you don’t have a big bang at the end. And so you can also continue building new features and keep customers happy. — @samnewman at #ndcoslo on decomposing monoliths

the idea that the "ideal software engineer" as a coding genius who knows 8 programming languages is so unimaginative, obviously the ideal software engineer would have a powerful cyborg arm and a built-in airhorn that goes off when standup goes over 15 minutes

. @jbogard gave a fantastic demonstration of implementing a solution to the problem of distributed transactions, direct application to #microservices. Grateful for his time answering questions afterwards. #NDCOslo #ucisa #devacuk

I am stood watching one of Norway's top chess players playing against ten different opponents simultaneously. And he's winning on every board. Not sure how to process this 😆 #NDCOslo
