10/10s - 2026 update (alphabetized) I only sparingly give 10s so as not to devalue its impact. For me, 10/10 doesn’t necessarily mean flawless (though I believe some of these are), but rather a game that is close to perfect, or hits my threshold for peak enjoyment.

Silksong speedruns are getting crazier by the day this is so insanely cool

Silksong was so enjoyable that I played through the game twice in a row. It eclipses HK1. The new definitive Metroidvania alongside Super Metroid. All future content is just icing on the cake. My favorite game of the decade, in the same tier as Doom Eternal and Expedition 33.

There is so much truth to this

This is genuinely a huge reason why I’m so fond of the 2D/early 3D era. Playing a game was a lot like reading a book - your imagination did a lot of the heavy lifting in a way that felt stimulating and fulfilling and it’s something I just don’t feel with hyperrealism

Beat Metroid Prime 4. Wow, I have many thoughts and need a couple days to ruminate. It’s a little shocking how riddled with design flaws this game is. It probably barely gets an average rating from me, if that. A huge step back from the original trilogy. More thoughts later.
