You see this everywhere, because there are real issues of "being too smart", and then also because intelligence has VERY little correlation with who calls the shots. Intelligence seems to lead to two major issues: 1. Analysis paralysis, the web of things to consider becomes…

does anyone out there believe that simple minds can do things that more complex minds cannot do? If so, can you help me figure out, what are examples of those things?

This essay is fantastic : “Female group dynamics favor consensus and cooperation. Men order each other around, but women can only suggest and persuade. Any criticism or negative sentiment, if it absolutely must be expressed, needs to be buried in layers of compliments. The…

You aren’t ready for 80-90% of family and internal medicine doctors being women. Maybe 5-10 years max. Imagine 80% of floor hospitals being run and *managed* by an entire team of women, all with extremely deep seated personal animus against everyone they work with.

The game has a built in Asset/Level editor, with an asset management system that automatically generates to-do list for asset creation. This system is using HXA and the game auto generates thumbnails for all assets, levels and replays.

Problem: parse CLI flags OOP mindset: "I find merging methods corresponding to different sets of invariants slightly inelegant." And they still don't get it. Solve the problem dude stop playing 4D chess to write a for loop

For what it's worth, I find this class good, but this is one of the few cases where I'm iffy on law of Demeter. I'd keep the tree structure separate from the interaction with each marshaller. I find merging methods corresponding to different sets of invariants slightly inelegant.

i used to think i was a night owl, but in reality i was just procrastinating until the evening to get my work done, and justifying it by calling myself a night owl. i bet most of you "night owls" out there are in the same boat but too afraid to admit it to yourselves.

I have an idea from Europe for you: a social safety net

Total per node (Rust, optimized): 1.5–3.0 µs typical. Buuuut b = 20 → 3,368,421 nodes (depth ≤ 5). b = 30 → 25,137,931 nodes (depth ≤ 5). That’s for one. What if you got 40. So depth dominates much more than the raw number of actions. And fuuuck

at some point you gotta grow out of judging everyone on whether or not they know pieces of information you are proud of knowing

Degree vs Self-Taught: In my experience, people who are self-taught or who learned by experience tend to have odd gaps in their knowledge. For example, the Shazam app. I knew right away it must be using Fourier analysis. But if one was self-taught, one might have never…
