Just as we were leaving @NorfolkWT Holme reserve, we spotted a Barn Owl hunting the marsh alongside the drive in. It’s distant - but so lovely to see.
Norfolk reeds this afternoon on New Year’s Eve. Happy New Year!
Always worth a repost.
Just in case any members of the @Hawkandowluk are travelling to London for the AGM today, you may want to ask the Trustees and CEO about the court case in the summer and ask if they have changed their policies. The judge said, ‘It was clear that Mr Blumfield (the CEO) was aiming…

At the beautiful @EnglishHeritage Audley End House, helping identify birds of prey in their taxidermy collection.
For all my dear Twitter pals who are stuck indoors today, come and walk with me on Holkham beach this afternoon. It feels more like September than November! The air is warm and the sky a clear, bright blue. It’s a beautiful Norfolk day.
A hide with a view. Late afternoon at Holkham.
"Volunteers cleaning up the pellets at Camber Sands have described it as "the worst single incident" they have encountered." I'm going to be down on the south coast this weekend. Perhaps the minister responsible Emma Hardy might like to join me at Camber Sands on Saturday…

A sky full of Pink-foot geese over the marshes tonight. Pure Norfolk music.
Making Kestrel boxes today. There’s a real lack of nesting sites for cavity-nesting birds of prey and it’s proven that nest boxes bring huge benefits.
For all my dear Twitter pals who are stuck indoors today, come and stand with me as we watch a flock of Pink-footed geese whiffle down to feed on the field. Cars roar past us, but we are hidden by the hedge as we watch these long-distance visitors to Norfolk. Such a joy.
