In preparation for the upcoming weather event, Con Fire, in coordination with @Cal_OES and our regional partners, has increased staffing of specialized resources to quickly respond to storm-related incidents.
Today at 1:27 pm, Con Fire crews responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Longview Court in Antioch. The fire appeared to start outside the home but quickly spread to the attic.
This specialized apparatus is purposely assigned to this station for this very reason. This vehicle is used when access is difficult or impossible for our normal 4-wheel drive vehicles in areas such as Mt. Diablo.
Con Fire firefighters from Station 11, utilizing an all-terrain utility vehicle (UTV), rescued and transported an injured hiker off a Mt. Diablo trail. The injured hiker was transported to a local area hospital.
