Independent contractors are essential to small business success in today's modern (heavily regulated) economy. But not everyone sees the benefits. Some see only threats. The NLRB is at the nerve center of efforts by multiple agencies to define the line btwn employee and IC.

We put our small businesses in jeopardy when we reward political influencers for building narratives that bad actors prevail. They make marginal cases central. They claim that all businesses cannot be trusted to treat people fairly without heavy, burdensome gov regulations.
Great points. No one really knows how much some of these regulations will cost businesses. But gov paid leave strikes at the heart of a business's capacity to be reliable to their customers, clients, and patients. Not all can accommodate this broad, generous benefit.
