In this era of mounting pressures, presidents must be financially literate, empathetic, courageous, and good at building trust.
It's unbelievable how many dynamic companies broke their streaks of engineer-CEOs for the first time in the 2000s, installing their first MBA/finance CEOs, who then promptly made fundamental strategic errors that nixed the company's future, that are now becoming obvious.

My story about #transfer is really about #college bureaucracy -- common barriers to #studentsuccess, yet rarely mentioned when people talk about #gradrates, #equity, #access, etc. Many of those barriers arise from inertia, skewed incentives, and apathy. #HigherEducation
