President Jimmy Carter famously appealed to a younger generation of voters by utilizing music. This poster in our collection is for an Allman Brothers concert that occurred on 11/25/1975 in Providence, RI. Fun fact: the opener was a band named Grinderswitch! #Carter50

Tomorrow, on what would have been Jimmy Carter’s 101st birthday, we hope you take to heart that “the bond of our common humanity is stronger than the divisiveness of our fears and prejudices,” as he stated during his Nobel Peace Prize lecture in 2002. Img: nlc20379.24, 11/3/80

Today is #NationalCentenarianDay, and as the only former President to live to be 100 years old, Carter had a lot to say about aging and life in general. Check out his book, The Virtues of Aging, available in our museum gift shop, or online. #CarterLibrary #PresidentialLibrary
