President Jimmy Carter famously appealed to a younger generation of voters by utilizing music. This poster in our collection is for an Allman Brothers concert that occurred on 11/25/1975 in Providence, RI. Fun fact: the opener was a band named Grinderswitch! #Carter50

Since 2002, every November 15th has been “I Love to Write Day”. President Carter certainly did, having written 26 books over his lifetime, including a poetry collection entitled “Always a Reckoning” as shown here! #writing #CarterLibrary

Congress has restored funding of appropriated activities. The Carter Library and Museum will be open to the public starting Monday 11/17. We will return to our normal business hours, Mon-Sat 9:30-4:30 for the museum and Mon-Fri 9:30-3:30 (by appointment) for the research room.

Tomorrow, on what would have been Jimmy Carter’s 101st birthday, we hope you take to heart that “the bond of our common humanity is stronger than the divisiveness of our fears and prejudices,” as he stated during his Nobel Peace Prize lecture in 2002. Img: nlc20379.24, 11/3/80
