The EU has just made its choice: they will suspend the retaliatory tariffs that were approved yesterday - by 90 days. But let's be clear here: the 25% 🇺🇸steel/aluminium tariffs that these 🇪🇺tariffs were retaliating against are *not* being paused. They're already being levied.
Trump's stated reason for pausing the extra tariffs on all except China is non-retaliation. But the EU *did* retaliate, in a vote yesterday. However this wasn't for Liberation Day, it was for the steel/aluminium tariffs from Feb which haven't been paused. A tough choice looms.
I have a 100% trade deficit with the lady that irons my suits. She offers something way more efficiently and at a much better price than I can do myself. And in exchange, I spend the time I would otherwise be wasting on pressing my suits offering financial services at 1,000x
