ngl seeing that the current rightoid spin is "don't believe your lying eyes" via social media posts while agonizing clear video of the guy being disarmed and gunned down exists makes me think that these people are doomed. total narrative and optics collapse, polls will be ugly.

After all this is over, we need to pass a law that makes social media posts from official agency accounts like this subject to perjury. It is too destructive to the country to let them keep lying and lying and lying without any possible legal remedy.

Andrew Day (@AKDay89) says American militarism is a driving force of the migration crises in the US and Europe: “A main reason to oppose militarism is this recognition that it’s going to destabilize our societies. I also don’t think we should kill people unless we have to.”

It'a amazing to watch mainstream western media outlets completely and brazenly distort what Mark Carney said. They're pretending he was just attacking Trump: as if Carney was claiming we had a nice "rules-based international order" until Trump came along. No. Carney said that…

A central, decades-old prong of the propaganda machine of DC's bipartisan foreign policy blob -- as well as their stenographers in establishment media rags like The Atlantic and The Economist -- is that the US nobly acts to uphold the "rules-based international order," which they…

I have to confess, I remain puzzled by some scholars' attachment to the idea that it was "rules," and not nuclear weapons or American power, that kept the peace between the great powers in the postwar era.

I agree with Carney and would go even further and state that liberal internationalism was a bloodthirsty utopian ideology that beguiled many people while doing tremendous harm to the world.

No, because US hegemony was never about liberal values & friendship. It was always based on US power. That hasn't changed. Countries may want to balance that power now rather than be vassals, but if they don't have the capabilities to challenge the US, it doesn't matter.

This is the very European burden-sharing the Trump administration is supposedly so emphatic about. If Trump was smart, he would take credit for this (just as he took credit for NATO’s 5% GDP spending boost) instead of continuing to manufacture a pointless crisis over Greenland.

The first Trump presidency was consumed by liberal fan fiction that he was controlled by, funded by, and even passing secret polling data to Russian oligarchs. Meanwhile, on planet Earth, Israeli-American oligarchs flaunt how they buy off both Trump and his opposition:

Israeli-American Council to Zionist billionaire Miriam Adelson: How do you buy and exercise influence over politicians in the US? Adelson: "Can you allow me not to answer? ... I want to be truthful and there are so many things I don't want to talk about."

What makes Greenland-gate so dumb is that: A: We're already there B: The island is already serving its essential function C: We already have carte blanche D: The Chicoms or Russkis aren't going to invade it
