Thank you to @helenhayes_ and her colleagues on @CommonsEd committee, it's great to see SEND in FE and specialist colleges recognised like this. I hope this report can convince @educationgovuk to include specialist colleges in future policy.

The Education Committee's new report addresses long-standing neglect of SEND in policy and recognises the vital role of specialist colleges. We're pleased to see key recommendations on funding, transport, and more. natspec.org.uk/natspec-respon…

Today's Education Committee SEND report rightly focuses on protecting learners’ rights and improving support. But it lacks a real focus on specialist FE settings and key issues including capital funding, transport and teacher pay. natspec.org.uk/natspec-respon…

Great to see Laurence Turner MP mention Victoria College during Education Questions yesterday, raising the crucial issue of capital funding for specialist FE colleges. We're encouraged by the Minister's agreement to meet and look forward to the next steps @larry_turner

What a shame Isos didn’t ask @natspec about the impact of Safety Valve agreements on colleges & post-16 students. We could have told them about unwillingness to place in specialist colleges, undue pressure to cease EHCPs, reluctance to fund therapies… assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/686e3331…
