⌛️ There is no plan ⌛️ We’re not going to Mars, Elon Musk isn’t gonna save us, we’re failing all climate targets, there is no big tech fix coming from MIT, nobody is stopping the collapse of nature. It just isn’t happening. That’s why we need XR.
At some point we'll have to face the fact that politely asking the ruling class to stop climate destruction is not going to work.
What's different with COP26 is the politicians themselves talked it up. They talked up their plans, and admitted it was now or never. So the fact they never delivered on what they talked up is very significant.
The only good thing to come out of COP26 is that at least we now know with absolute certainty that our current leadership/system is utterly incapable of meaningfully addressing the climate and ecological emergency.
The alarmists were right, about pretty much everything.
XR's tactics may not be perfect - there is no such thing as perfect tactics - but at least they're doing something. It's infinitely better than doing nothing, which is what most are still doing.
Even now, as the climate crisis accelerates and ecosystems collapse: There is no plan. There isn’t even a rudimentary PowerPoint draft
It's time we were all enraged by inaction on climate.
One of the tragedies of our existence is that there is no connection between what we know and what we do.
