Switzerland: Open to compromise on unspent Article 6 funds, willing to channel remaining balances either to the supplementary fund or the general Article 6 budget. Emphasises flexibility and a “sensible” path forward. LMDC request noted as the list closes. #COP30 @ClimateBlue
#COP30 LMDC calls for balanced funding under Article 6.8. Non-market approaches are not optional;they’re essential for equity, resilience, and real climate action. Markets get resources - 6.8 gets promises. Time to fix the imbalance & funds developing countries need @ClimateBlue
Due to some hesitation from Parties, EU agreed to remove its proposed language. Japan has now proposed new language which would account for extra budgetary resources to IPLCs. Saudia Arabia has voiced its concern again for this language. #COP30 @ClimateBlue
EU proposed insertion of text which would call for voluntary contributions which Saudi Arabia has intervened to voice concern that this may put burden on developing countries that might not be able to contribute as much. #IndigenousPeoples #localcommunities #COP30 @ClimateBlue
China just voiced its full support to contribute to a fund intended for Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP). Big step of acknowledgment of IPLC globally, though it seems contributions to this fund will still be voluntary in nature. #COP30 @ClimateBlue

Article 6, Paragraph 8 draft text was agreed upon swiftly ~1hr ago. Still debate happening around Paragraph 4. Meeting room has ballooned in size of observers, constituency presence, party overflow, and press. The rain is also coming down HARD again. #COP30 @ClimateBlue

To make big changes, we need to start small, even microscopic. Today’s panel at the Ocean pavilion focused on the importance of microbes to our health, our climate, and our future. A call to action for future research and advocacy for microscopic life was echoed @ClimateBlue
Very interesting conversations were had about the importance of FPIC, data sovereignty, and treating Indigenous Peoples like collaborators and not merely as subjects of study - an important point underscored by an Indigenous audience member. (2/2) @ClimateBlue
Exploring some more of the smaller delegation pavilion events this morning. First up was a conversation at the GAUC Pavilion on collaborative research that is being done with Indigenous communities/territories of Waimiri-Atroari and Pantanal (1/2) @ClimateBlue
