Haven't released since August but app #6 dropped last week, #7 in review @adamlyttleapps mentioned the launch boost might be gone, so will be interesting to see. 3000 impressions over 2 days → nearly nothing. 1 conversion, 8 trials total Have you noticed the end of the boost?
Just got my first payout from Apple 📱 £86.72 ($116.55) might not seem like much to most people, but to me, it's proof that this is actually possible! From idea → code → App Store → real money in my account The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step #BuildInPublic
Weekend check-in with my fellow builders 💪 That Monday 9-5 feeling is my biggest motivator today Building app #6 while sipping this protein shake. What's everyone else working on this Saturday? Freedom doesn't build itself 🚀 #WeekendGrind #BuildInPublic #AppDev #indiedev
App #5 is FINALLY live 🎉 7 days in review, 6 rejections, endless review replies, phone calls with Apple, subscription connection issues... But we made it! Let's see if I can get a little boost from this one. Now I can finally sleep 😴 Good night! #BuildInPublic #NeverGiveUp
Apple's app review process is wildly inconsistent. My app was approved, then an unrelated update triggered a rejection for previously approved screenshots & icon. Feels like it's all up to the reviewer’s mood. 7 days of back-and-forth, absolutely draining.😰
Month 1 building apps: 4 released, 1 in review, £120 rev, £60 MRR, lessons learned on design, ASO & user psychology 📱 Goal: 2x next month. God willing! 🚀 #BuildInPublic #IndieDevs
The journey you hope to see 🤩 Trial → Convert → Renew Most apps lose 75% of users after day 1. When someone goes through this flow, it means you're solving a real problem. ...or they forgot to cancel 😅 Focus on retention over downloads 📈 #BuildInPublic #IndieHacker
Been watching @adamlyttleapps for a year, wanting to build an app portfolio but kept procrastinating 😅 Finally jumped in at the end of June. Today: Hit my first £100 ($134) in 28 days! 🎉 Next goal: £100 MRR Thanks for the inspiration, Adam! #BuildInPublic #IndieHacker
TikTok shadowbanned me so hard I thought I was posting into the void 📱👻 But my latest video actually got views?? Either the algorithm forgave me or 37 people accidentally opened the app while their phone was in their pocket 🤷♂️ #TikTokStruggles
Quick update 📊 TikTok still blocking my posts 🤡 App #4 too early for stats, but App #2 gaining traction! 📈 Building App #5 but tempted to improve App #2 since it's working. That's all for today, unless something wild happens✌️
TikTok really said 'not today' 💀 Two videos in a row: 0 views Analytics: flagged for "dangerous activities and election integrity" 🤡 Bro, it's literally the most wholesome content imaginable. Unless I start posting cute puppy videos. Algorithm gonna algorithm I guess 🤷♂️
App #4 is now LIVE! 🚀 This is my first app that's NOT based on ASO research. Instead, I'm testing TikTok/Instagram marketing to drive traffic. Completely different strategy - excited to see if organic social beats keyword optimization. Will post results soon! 📊
First weekly subscriber just converted after 3-day trial! 🎉 All my other subs were yearly, so this hits different - someone actually chose to PAY weekly after trying it. Small wins >> everything 🔥
Me: 'Why is my app getting rejected for in-app purchases?' Checks submission... Me: never actually enabled subscriptions in App Store Connect Resubmitted with subscriptions properly configured. Sometimes the simplest mistakes hurt the most 😅 Day 1 of another review cycle..
App #2 after 3 weeks: 📊 143 users 💰 £63 ($84.90) revenue 📈 10.2% conversion 💵 £5 ($6.74) MRR 🎉 3rd yearly sub landed 😅 0 weekly trials converted 📍ASO: #1 secondary keyword, #4→#5 main ⚠️ Apple Connect lagging vs RevenueCat data
Day 2 of waiting for Apple to review app #4 🕐 Me: refreshes App Store Connect History every 5 minutes Also me: "I should be productive and start app #5" Opens Twitter instead Anyone else live in this cycle? 😂
Inspired by these posts, here's my tech stack for building my app portfolio: ASO → @TryAstroApp Mobile → React Native + @expo Design → @figma + @canva + Photopea + @AppScreensASO Backend → Next.js + @vercel Payments → @RevenueCat AI → @cursor + Claude + @ChatGPTapp
Here is my version of tools and services I use to build and grow my apps: • ASO & Keyword Research → @TryAstroApp + @StarviewASO • Metadata Management & Price Optimization → manual, but I'll purchase PriceTag soon • Mobile Subscriptions & Analytics → @RevenueCat or…
Plot twist building app #4: Hit the EAS build limit (30/month) and panicked 😅 Turns out you can build locally → Xcode → archive → App Store Connect Sometimes constraints teach you more than convenience 💡 #ReactNative #ExpoDevs #BuildInPublic
