Finally reached my goal of $3,000 MRR. It means a lot to me as it's my breakeven point (same amount as my current salary in eastern Europe). Most of it can be attributed to 1 of my apps, where I found high popularity keyword with no competition and combined it with SEO…

Is it just me, or did anyone else also thought that indie devs can't make money on apps anymore? I thought that If I didn't release apps before 2015, big corporations would always outcompete me and there is no way I could be profitable. I'm Happy I was wrong.

I experimented with lifetime offers. But to my surprise they didn't perform well. It seems that people are scared of that long commitment. I literally changed offer from lifetime to annual subscription and the conversions went up by 300%. Despite the same price.

I also like to highlight the downside. When things go wrong, apps fail, and months of work become futile. These stats show several of my apps with poor impressions, low downloads, and zero revenue. If you release multiple apps and earn nothing, remember that for every…

Big chunk of my revenue comes from SEO. These stats are for one of my apps and the best part part is that the traffic has very high conversion rate. I'm not an SEO expert, yet I managed to get this traffic in under two months.

how it feels having most or your revenue from just one app

The easiest thing you can do to boost your revenue is to increase the prices and test different price combinations.

I've never been happier to receive an invoice. Now the next goal is to get removed from Apple Small Bussiness Program.

I always thought you need massive traffic for ads to make anything meaningful but I earn around 170€ - 300€ from minimal traffic. If ads suit your app's character, incorporate them.

keyword research is the most important part of building new app

indie devs really underestimate how much traffic can ASO bring in

as a kid i loved christmas because of presents as an adult i love it because of the incredible eCPM i get on ads

I realized how much posting on X helps me with my apps even if I don't promote them directly. - I want to SHOW great results, this requires me to HAVE great result with my apps. - It motivates me to work even harder, to experiment more and try different angles - It keeps me…

I ran "apps gone free" campaign and these are my results: - I got 7 000 downloads (Most were from Asia but also lot of USA) - I got 200 reviews (mostly 5 stars) - I made 98$ from 3 lifetime purchases after the campaign ended (this is sick because this app had this offer for $7…

for this year I had a goal of $1, 000 MRR but ended up hitting triple that. for next year I've set a goal of $10, 000 MRR, which would be absolutely ground-breaking for me. tripling that seems sort of surreal at the moment.

best kind of users

without the USA the app industry wouldn't exist

I received my first complaint notice for infringing intellectual property rights. My main competitor claims that I imitated them because our apps have similar titles, which are just common terms (my includes additional "AI").

it's still crazy to me how many people and even software engineers don't realize how easy it is to publish an app today and become profitable in such a short time

Two simple psychological tricks to get more conversions. 1. Make user talk about his pain point. - Add onboarding - Use open-ended question - This can be used for anything, for weight loss ask why he wants to lose weight. For PDF converter ask what he wants to convert - The…

Americans don't work hard. They spend a lot of time at their job but are absolutely unfocused and spend effort on low priority shit.
