Building my own SwiftUI WebSite 🧱 | Sharing Code, Dev Thoughts, Building Breaking Debugging - Repeat 🔁| 🇦🇺🇵🇭

after building my foundation on Cursor, i tried out Windsurf. mostly out of curiosity — people were saying it’s fast. then i heard OpenAI buying it. for me… it is fast. even on the free plan, it feels like a senior dev sitting beside me. and I can curse it if it’s acting up

my code doesn’t work and I don’t know why 😭 my code works and I don’t know why 😭 the second one is scarier but in vibe coding version: just replace “I don’t know why” with “I don’t care.”

paid $20 to try Cursor. used Claude 3.5 as my co-pilot. built the barebones of my site in a day: – homepage – tutorial rendering – admin dashboard – google login it felt like pair programming with a senior dev. but letting the senior dev do all the work. 😂 #buildinpublic

the ones hitting $50k MRR aren’t beginners they’re experienced. built on years of quiet learning, failed launches, failed projects. they know how to build, ship, and sell. you’re just not seeing the full picture it’s not just vibes. don’t let the hype mess with your head

don’t feel bad when someone builds a $50k MRR SaaS in 2 weeks with zero audience, zero marketing, and zero explanation. you didn’t miss a secret — you just have a skill issue. obviously 😂 (or maybe… it’s just marketing, and you’re doing just fine. keep going 👊)

me: wait, how did you go from idea to $50k MRR in 2 weeks with zero users yesterday? them: you don’t understand. also them: skill issue. cool cool. i’ll just keep building real stuff with real effort then 🙃

Even though i use AI to build, write, debug — the thing is, it’s still me: – my choices – my doubts – my taste – my pace you can’t outsource that. Building is still very, very human.

I just got Google login working for the website Once you’re in, you land on an admin page where you can create and edit tutorials. I used to use WordPress for this. Now I get to design the editing flow exactly how I think it should work for me.

This is the homepage I’m building. It will house my SwiftUI learnings. Simple, Clean, personal

I’ve been thinking this for days… finally choosing a domain name for my site - Coding In A Nutshell top contenders so far: - codingnutshell.com - codinginanutshell.com - nutshellcoding.com it feels like signing a lease on an identity 😅 #buildinpublic

I’ve been thinking over buying a domain name on Namecheap 😅 $10 for a whole year. That’s cheaper than lunch. But picking a domain name makes it feel real. #buildinpublic #SwiftUI

So when this vibe coding thing started to feel possible for me, I went for it. I’m finally building a proper website to share my SwiftUI learnings. Keeping it super simple: – a hello greeting 👋 – SwiftUI tutorial tiles – a blog – a login #buildinpublic #swiftui #iosdev

yes. i’m back. again. yes, i’m building something. again. no, i don’t blame you for thinking ‘same old’. but this time… it’s personal (again).

I’ve been vibe coding recently and the AI just went through a lot of verbal abuse from me.

I realised I drift a lot. I wait around when I should be moving forward. No shame, just truth. So today I made a “Quick Action Menu” for myself. Now when I finish a task, I don’t guess what’s next. This journey is about clarity, discipline, and fun. Let’s see where this goes. 🚀

Learning with AI feels like it’s on fast forward. What used to take hours you can now learn in minutes. The challenge is keeping up and truly understanding.

Have some rest too. You deserve it. I work hard but I also know how to play 🎮

Today’s plan: show up, code, and learn something new.

Sometimes it’s the small wins that keep us going. Whether it’s a solved bug, a new insight, or just showing up. Progress is progress. 🌟 Good night, devs. Let’s build again tomorrow. 🚀

Listen to people who have done what you want to do.
