I thought the U.S. opposed South American immigration?

Man I can picture this! "If one should speak of the advantages that Europe has over the African lands they are at once prone to ask why the speaker did not remain at home and enjoy these advantages."

O.F. Mentzel visited the Cape Colony in the 1730s and wrote about his encounters with the Afrikaner "trekboere" (wandering cattle farmers) who lived deep in the hinterland: "The inhabitants of the country districts, the Boers, are at present mainly indigenous Afrikanders of…

House of David has a moment where a princess almost commits suicide, when her tomboy sister in law convinced her not too. If this were Netflix, they would have kissed.

Counterpoint: A year ago my bisexual friend seriously considered a relationship with another guy. I told I cannot endorse it, but he would be my friend either way. Today he is happy oversees with a good job, looking for a wife and praising God.

My daughter and her wife got married three months ago, and I wasn't invited to the wedding. Not because they didn't want me there. Because I'd told them two years earlier that I couldn't support their relationship. That it went against everything I believed. That I needed time.…

Never voting DA again

Solidarity should put up a "Kill the boer" banner. Either the ANC leaves it for the world to see. Or they remove it and implicitly condemn it.

Imagine still being a libertarian

Afrikaner decolonialism?

I was not insane. I was right. The University of Pretoria gave bursaries for people who were not white at lower academic thresholds. Whites had to get 75% to qualify. All others only needed 65%. up.ac.za/media/shared/6…

It's a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God

Carl doesn't believe, but he understands the value of belief. In this way, he actually has more faith than most Christians.

Instead of asking whether you believe or not, ask yourself whether you have today done one thing because he said, Do it, or once abstained because he said, Do not do it. It is simply absurd to say you believe, or even want to believe in him, if you do not anything he tells you.

Don't say "You cannot be a Christian and do or be X". Rather, say "The ideal Christian cannot do or be X". We are flawed people. We can have inconsistencies. This framing avoids being judgmental.

The more you study the Great Books, the more insane and unemployable you become. On the upside tho, you stop caring about those things around 5 years in. Instead, you care about pastries and local tap water quality.
