Another special birthday celebrated in the garden Happy Birthday to our beautiful Red 🎉 Luna made the most beautiful spiced pear cake with fig jam and vanilla mascarpone icing, and Maria @greenspacescork made a tikka masala sweet potato curry, it was delicious.
November is the time of the year that mammals like hedgehogs like to find sheltered locations to hibernate. One way to help with this is to leave your leaves in a corner in your garden! This provides a valuable shelter for mammals throughout winter.
What a lovely day we had in the garden. The compost pile was sieved we got great soil full of life.We are getting the ground prepared for the installation of a well,this is going to be a huge asset to us. Thanks to Orla Burke and @corkcitycouncil #climateactionfund

Saturday we had a very informative scytheing workshop with Megan and Jo goodyear, what a fantastic skill to learn. Still picking tomatoes in the Polytunnell and we topped up our wormery. Another delicious lunch from Maria of basil orzo and feta.

Our wonderful friends from L'Arche Togher visiting us today, Keelan,Luke and Keiran moved our soil into the beds. Barbara's dad gifted us a garden waste shredder how amazing is he, thanks Barbara's Dad, and the amazing Ollie knocked us up a new shelf in 10 mins with Ugos help.

Another busy day in the garden. A chilly start this morning but we warmed up in no time. Lots of weeding around the trees and raised beds, Ollie and Ugo finished the shelving, Deirdre made us an apple sponge and Maria made a very unusual soup called Armenian apricot soup.

A glorious day in the community garden, the lads fixed all the raised beds and put down lots of bark mulch around our trees, we planted out some spinach and sang Christmas songs 😂 Maria made us warming bowls of French onion soup and Luna made us the most delicious quince jelly🌱
Lads it's a day for the ducks. The gang got lots done around the garden, they're a great bunch for the jobs. Lots of seeds collected, and we planted more garlic & picked 2 buckets of Spanish beans. Maria made a soup with potato onion and thyme 🍲 See you all Saturday at 10

Another glorious Wed in the garden. We had another visit from a school from Italy learning about what we do, hosted by @thelearningabroadco . We planted out some winter veg,got lots of weeding done and Maria made us delicious potato and thyme soup with our own spuds for lunch 🌱
Today we had a group of students from Italy, learning about biodiversity and sustainability. Our friends from L'Arche in Togher joined us for a cup of tea and chats we look forward to their visit every week. Back again on Saturday at 10

Back at it yesterday in between the light showers. We started to plant acorns in our duneman box again, cut down our mullein to start the drying process, harvested some beets and Amaranth and had a feast of basil pesto pasta and a choice of 3 apple desserts all from our produce
