Eaters beware: no utensil is recyclable, no matter what they’re made of. Because they’re long and thin, they don’t meet the 2” x 2” size requirement to recycle items via our primary, curbside recycling system.
If you like windrows - maybe check out a simple aerated static pile system. Even more efficiency, less labor, maybe even run the fan from solar?

The truth is we are generating waste so much faster than our efforts to recycle...the increase in waste is in categories that are not part of traditional recycling systems: textiles, electronics, housewares. These things aren’t considered single-use, but don’t last long either.
