RJ Hamilton when healthy has a similar skillset to Hewett and Humphrey, so I’m not sure where he would’ve played or if he could beat out one of those two. (Humphrey’s been banged up as well) Maldonado would’ve made some difference, I agree
I was told Kozeal was “good to go.” You’re right, that might not be 100%. Even at 100% Kozeal doesn’t solve this team’s offensive issues. A healthy Maldonado and perhaps Hamilton might have made a difference.
Kozeal dealt with a shoulder issue earlier in the year and that sometimes can linger even if they are able to play through it (see: Troy LaNeve, Carter Young). But I obviously don't know how he's feeling day to day
Don’t think Kozeal’s injured - just struggling with SEC pitching. We have defensive options, but none that provide an offensive boost. Our problems are lack of quality pitching depth due to injuries and no Alpha Dog (preferably more than 1) who consistently delivers at the plate.
Tim Corbin said he isn't injured but I'm not sure if that meant that he was 100% healthy, or just that he was available. Bc those are two very different things
