Have a cold (not covid?). 50% scotch 50% ginger wine (apparently called a whiskey mac). Amazeballs.

I'm pretty sure I can work out what Drill Sets are from the context but when I google I get this... different to a knowledge organiser? If so how? Concrete examples please Edutwitter.

The kids who didn't engage well in lockdown are also the kids who struggling to focus now we are back and seem least capable of repairing damage to learning.

This is the first time in my 20+ years of teaching that I find on a Sunday that I have planned absolutely nothing for tomorrow. Zilch, nada. Better get to it.

Science Teachers! With remote learning on the horizon, here is a short thread with some useful free resources. Please read to the end and make sure to share widely - we need to help each other.

Hmmm, plan lessons (and remote lessons) for the first week back or wait to see what the next batch of announcements are?

So - how do we do this 'teaching' thing again?

Cheers, Dave.

So, most of this is familiar stuff, but the section on developing questions on declarative knowledge is lovely. For the biologists!

NEW BLOG: in anticipation of our discussions on curriculum over the next few weeks, @mr_badham has a great blog on how to ensure new knowledge sticks. One of the most important underpinnings of the curriculum cogscisci.wordpress.com/2020/07/22/how…

Electricity is a minefield of misconception. This sounds great!

COMING VERY SOON! Curriculum Chats: Electricity @DrWilkinsonSci @Ruth_Ashbee @emc2andallthat and @TChillimamp will discuss electricity models, the role of practicals in electricity, how they structure electricity over KS3/4, why students (and teachers) find it difficult and more!

Dead proud of my team kicking the ass out of development work and making the most of lockdown. Bring on September.

Um, no? At least, not as most parents would imagine.

"I dunno,"I shrug when panicking about the inevitable widening of our PP gap. This is a brief but excellent read which has made me feel less helpless & given me something to focus my planning on. Obviously some ideas are school/trust level but it has given me some clarity. Thanks

So many generous people on twitter sharing their resources. I’ve tried to collate recent shares in this thread & included earlier shares, hopefully to minimise any additional work people may feel they need to do. Please feel free to add any I’ve missed #TeamScience

This conference programme is a spoof, surely?

I think I'm going to take a hard pass on this conference.

Somehow not seen particle representations of separation before. Lovely.
