Today is publication day for my monograph, /First Readers of Shakespeare's Sonnets/. It's rich in manuscript studies & I tried hard to make it conversational. The preface, intro, & c1 seem to be available on Google Books (US) if anyone is interested: books.google.com/books?id=NIXxD…

I'm so grateful to have known Dr Peter Beal as a grad student. He was generous & encouraging to me as a novice scholar, & much of my research relies on his groundbreaking, methodical research & detailed explanations & classifications. He will live on in our work for generations.
My very beloved husband, Dr Peter Beal, died peacefully in May after several years of Alzheimer’s disease. He was a Fellow of the @BritishAcademy_, gave the 1995/6 Lyell Lectures @bodleianlibs and for 25 years was the English Manuscripts Expert @Sothebys.

A quick note to say that I'm planning to be in the UK (mostly London) the latter half of January & most or all of February & would LOVE to come talk to students & interested people about the work I'm doing on satirical epitaphs of servants & tradesmen, if anyone is interested.
Today is my last day at the @HoughtonLib in Cambridge, MA (thanks to the generous @AmerTrustBL). I have a fabulous book of death certificates on hold & am hoping to flip through a few more manuscript miscellanies too. Though short, it's been a terrific and productive trip!

I had the privilege of reading a draft of the ERC proposal, & STEMMA is just one of the most exciting manuscript projects imaginable (plus someone can study with @erinannmcc in Ireland!) Hope aspiring PhD students see this & take advantage of the opportunity!
