Azeem Rafiq has perfectly identified why complaints about #workplaceracism rarely succeed: People of Colour are often the last to want to admit it’s happening, ‘allies’ fade away, internal complaints procedures aren’t fit for purpose and, eventually, the victim is blamed.
We really need to lose / rethink the term microaggression because there's really nothing 'micro' about what Azeem Rafiq has described today. It's plain racism and has clearly caused a huge amount of racial trauma for him and many others impacted by racism in sport 💔

.@AzeemRafiq30’s devastating testimony is not the exception. We POC know when we call out racism in the workplace we are left to face consequences. By identifying the problem aka racism - we become the problem. Azeem’s testimony is triggering on many levels but affirming too.
