So, our team has some big news 🥳 This morning, @botmock entered into an agreement for our technology and team to be acquired by Walmart. Both Botmock's team and Walmart share a vision to make digital experiences more accessible to all humans through conversation.

Is there a tool that aggregates all of the newsletters that I have subscribed to in my email inbox and makes it easier for me to read them? It's sad that they get lost in the sea of other emails in my inbox. #newsletter #emails

An interesting observation across the tech job market: The rise of the "top tier, remote-first, equal pay" companies. These are ones that pay ~$140-170K/yr base for sr engineers, ~$160-240K/yr for staff, plus equity. They are hiring away from FANG... in places like EU & India.

if you’re a phonetician looking to industry careers, “audio,” “perception,” and “(human-computer) interaction” might be a better search terms for you than “speech” or “voice”

Does anyone have any stats around SMB and phone call volumes? Both incoming and outgoing?

What are your biggest hiring mistakes?

Always do project related to our business on their timetable. Try to remove bias of “good presenter” (unless that’s what your hiring) from thinker/ decision making. Great way to eval thinking & how they pivot with diff assumptions. Gets them immersed in our biz. Helps close rate.

It’s PhD admissions season, so here’s a story of deciding not to do it- I was a theoretical linguistics MA student, and had a trip booked to check out a school for a potential PhD. Before I left, one of my profs gave me a book about different careers in linguistics… (1/?)

PhD admissions season is ramping up, so I feel obliged to join the chorus of voices reminding everyone that doing a PhD is, in most cases, a terrible idea.
