Everything happens for a reason we just don’t know what it is at the time

I have delayed reactions. Nearly 2 years ago I lost work after expressing my gender critical views on Twitter. Tonight I am struck by how utterly my life has changed.

Ah that comma has made my day

I am v grateful to @EmmaHamnett who was my solicitor when I was involved in litigation.

Big shout out to you @peter_daly well fought as ever! Sad to read they may appeal.

(5/4 - *Big* props also to Aida Smajlovic, who conducted the liability proceedings - an excellent lawyer)

C was paid her entire fee. For a role she accepts she would never have done. She litigates, with legal advice, and loses. No sympathy on costs-sorry CLC

Crowdfunding probably not, unless some clear link between conduct of proceedings and party providing funding, but Good Law Project and similar organisations who actively participate in litigation while also supporting the cause of the litigation should certainly consider this.

Judgment was handed down today in the EAT case of Omooba. Chris Milsom and Tom Coghlin KC of Cloisters successfully resisted the appeal on behalf of the Respondents. The judgment includes important guidance for belief discrimination cases ➡️ cloisters.com/insights/seyi-…

Well done to Tom Coghlin KC @CloistersLaw and @MilsomChr for a brilliant result. Now for those costs…

This is so sad, even though she chose her own death. She was 58 , my age, and with early onset dementia

This is Sarah and Gemma, Wendy’s daughters. Our mum died peacefully early this morning. She wrote a blog post before she died so you can read about it from her perspective. Sarah and Gemma whichmeamitoday.wordpress.com/2024/02/22/my-…

Reminds me of the Clement Freud joke…

One of those mornings when you put a suit on you haven’t worn for, literally, years and 1. .. it fits …2. You find £45 in the pocket ….

Compliments like this @MilsomChr usually saves for his instructing sols….

The trainer at the workplace diversity training session for Lloyds Bank managers told attendees not to worry about saying the wrong thing. There's no such thing as a bad question, she said. This was their opportunity to be clumsy around issues of race, she added. But when FSU…

I agree and it has been a pleasure to work with Karolien @SpeechUnion to get these deserved results for members on such important issues.

Well, I would not have received an apology or a settlement. I wouldn't have had expert legal advice. And I would almost certainly not have got to discuss the issues around the termination of my own employment with journalists.

We will let you know when the remedies judgment is on the Gov website @DazNewman @AudreySuffolk recommendations for the employer are far reaching

Yes we had to roll up our sleeves and fight for every legal point @SibylWrites and @SpeechUnion but a proud win for 2023

Great news. Sounds like @EmmaHamnett may have played a part in this one...
