Some of the index entries to the Sue Gray Partygate Report, if I did one (or when I do it) – from alcohol to ‘Wine Time Friday’ (WTF).

We're pleased to announce that by an unanimous vote at our AGM we will be making @djbduncan an honorary member of the society in recognition of his role in increasing knowledge of indexing and indexers. #siconf21

So, my wife has had a tough year. She put her life on hold to fight breast cancer. A battle she has hopefully now won. Yesterday she sat down to paint, the first time in 12 months. This was the result 🙌🙌🙌 #seamillbeach

My blog post for @BERANews about what we can observe in the classroom, and what it means... May be of interest to @StrathEDU @BPS_PES @cogscisci

In a new BERA Blog, @JW_Firth @StrathEDU describes how a better understanding of long-term memory can be applied in the classroom. particularly to ensure that attempts to gauge learning are focused on the right things. See bera.ac.uk/blog/misled-by…

As independent Ireland takes up her seat on the @UN Security Council today, not (yet) independent Scotland is taken out of the EU against our will. Time to put ourselves in the driving seat of our own future, Scotland #indyref2

have left all my non-scottish pals mindblown that PE at christmas was country dancing - just jigging aboot and hurling each other around a hall for a few weeks

Every intro to cognitive psychology course has at least one chapter where we ask how people know that dogs are dogs - after all, they look so different from each other. This research one-ups our question and asks: HOW DO DOGS KNOW THAT OTHER DOGS ARE DOGS??

I made the most of 2020 by learning Scottish Gaelic on Duolingo. Check out my progress! #Duolingo365 2020.duolingo.com/share.html?rid… honestly I could have done more, but with my streak coming up on the two year mark I think some repetition is allowed 😁

Delighted to have an article about authors working with book indexers in the Autumn issue of The Author journal @Soc_of_Authors. My first ever paid writing commission (to be republished on my blog soon). Days, happy.

Spot on. The idea that school uniform is some sort of social leveller is utterly ridiculous. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

This manages to be somehow both depressingly predictable and utterly shocking.

Here it is. Poorest pupils Higher pass rate reduced by 15.2% between teacher estimate and statistical moderation. Richest pupils rate reduced by just 6.9%.

Very proud to have worked on this. I can't emphasise the importance of its content enough, and excellently written (as all of Marc's work is).

I'm so pleased with this that I'm actually posting a picture of myself! Quick shout out to @jonmsutton at @psychmag & @jon_severs at @tes who have both published my articles on academic buoyancy. Huge shout out to @FionaF who produced the excellent index.

This book was always going to be a superb addition to education literature, but really couldn’t be more timely. Looking forward to publication.

Occasional reminder that Becoming Buoyant will be published on the 20th July (only took me five years to write!) routledge.com/Becoming-Buoya…
