Friday nights, and the weekend as a whole, can be really tough gents, especially as we head into Christmas and New Year. How are we going to look after ourselves through it?

We know so many men who try & minimise their emotions, even to themselves, because they don’t want to be seen as “weak” but being aware of & managing our emotions can really help our mental health 💪🏻

We know that the ‘Monday dread’ can make many of us feel overwhelmed at the week ahead, especially if we’re really struggling so break it down to days & hours. Plan good things throughout even if it’s a takeaway coffee or long drive home for some decompression 💪🏻

It is our 20th anniversary today since becoming a charity. We have launched an online Directory of Services (Oak Book) for male victims of domestic abuse. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey. bit.ly/3xzlgSO

An incredible tribute for an incredible man. It's ok to talk if you're struggling. We know it's hard & you worry about being judged but please try. We want you to stay! @samaritans @theCALMzone & @GiveUsAShout are great places to start!

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since Gary Speed’s death. I hope this helps someone…

PSA when it comes to straight men enjoying sexual “pegging”. His TikTok account is a great one to follow for sex questions & advice 🍆

Men are 47x at risk of suicide post-risk so it’s really important we acknowledge that as dads we can struggle, just as much as mums (in similar & different ways) & that it’s ok to ask for some support. There are great people such as @MarkWilliamsFMH @dadbloguk @dopeblackdads 🙌🏻

My girlfriend is pregnant and I absolutely love her to bits, but I have no idea what I need to do at all and I'm freaking the fuck out.

Abuse is never embarrassing & yes, we can be victims to women & other men. Please know there are great organisations such as @ManKindInit which can help. We’re not alone🙏🏻

Our founder, knowing that weekends and nights can be extremely difficult for so many of us. Hang on, gents. We want you to stay! #ForOurMen

As ever, I'm sending love to anyone struggling this evening, looking at a bottle of alcohol maybe, with a head full of "dark thoughts". It can & does get better. You don't need to kill yourself as a "way out". Sitting in solidarity with you all, especially you, gentlemen 🙏🏻💪🏻

To all the boys, and men who have been affected by sexual violence you are not alone💜Our helpline team can offer support & information about local support services in your area thesurvivorstrust.org/our-helpline *Content warning - discusses rape & sexual violence bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…

"I'm not suicidal except that I am, I think? I have lost the will to live" I know so many of you will be able to relate to this piece. Please know it can & does get better. Please stay. forourmen.com/i-have-lost-th…

(Let’s presume & hope there’s consent for this) We all know the relationships we have with our barbers are sacred, so we love the genuine smiles & laughter from the gents, here! 😁

Do you tell your male friends that you love them? If not, why not? We all deserve to be reminded. We don’t think it’s normalised enough between boys and girls men 💪🏻

This 👇🏻 There is always going to be someone worse of but that doesn’t mean we need to minimise & dismiss our own difficult situations and feelings. We can have empathy for others whilst still recognising our own suffering.

Fellas, stop invalidating your feelings because somebody else has it worse 👊🏽💯💛

Self-harm can look a lot like self-care when we use 'socially acceptable' methods to dull our pain, such as drinking, drugs, gambling or even exercise. So, tonight, ask yourself if when you do any of these; do you feel better or worse for it? Are they acts of self-care or harm?

Unfortunately, many of us who have engaged with the criminal justice system around abuse/assaults etc find it further traumatising due to lack of awareness. "Coercive control" is a new definition of abuse that the CJS needs to recognise the severity of 💔 bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-…

Since 2017 we’ve offered Equal Parental Leave to all our people, but how does it work and what benefits does it bring? Listen to this @dadbloguk #podcast to hear what Aviva dad Andrew has to say.

Some really interesting points discussed here...

Natasha Devon: 'What do you think the barriers are to boys and young men expressing emotions?' Caller: 'Honestly, they just don't know, and there's not a lot of support to help them with understanding.' @_NatashaDevon

I wonder how many of those guys die by suicide as the only way they see they can escape abuse, or due to emotional abuse, especially the slow but relentless drip drip of putdowns eroding their self-esteem? Perhaps we'll never know.

We see a lot of people sharing the old statistic of "84 men a week" die by suicide in the UK but latest figures show it's now sadly 94. When was the last time you checked in on a mate or colleague, or allowed yourself to recognise that you need help yourself? #ForOurMen

Any chance someone will read out their names in Parliament?
