Do you guys think things are gonna get better?

“Socialists complain about me saying that a program was insolvent despite the program never being implemented” It’s important to remember these people don’t really have any desire to believe true things

Socialists complain about this framing because Vermont never fully implemented its system, it was stillborn. That’s because there was no feasible way to roll it out. Vermont didn’t have the $2 billion for its first installment. So the nascent program was quietly killed.

"Causal inference is my passion"

And this is why according to Lyman's economics, larger population countries are systematically wealthier. Of course it is not true. Wealth (per capita) is a function of the distribution of intelligence (and other traits), not the quantity.

People cite the same 3 studies from Neumark over and over again. It’s getting old! Minimum wage is a net positive. Dube response to Neumark see here: x.com/arindube/statu…

It's ironic that people are now realizing that previous research on the positive effects of minimum wages had limitations and wasn't consensual, even though researchers like David Neumark and his co-authors have been warning about exactly that for years. share.google/oHn7dpP5ZACtlo…

The idea that a xitter user calling trump funny is “normalizing” Donald trump who is the president of the United States is a powerful kind of twitter brain

Normalizing White Supremacist?

I love everyone in the world

Also curious if anyone knows this

The books make sense, but I'm unclear on the cover motif. Moore came before Lee, who used the same design but with negative-space inversion. Is this a money endogeneity vs. exogeneity thing or something else/more? Pointless curiosity, but my spirit wants an answer.

I say this a lot but I think people really just have completely abandoned their inquisitive desire to understand alternative points of view. If I hear someone say and talk about something I don’t understand that is directly relevant to what I find interesting, I read up on it

Rejecting supply and demand in favor of this "administered prices" view is like saying, "Movies aren't made by writers, directors, actors, producers, and a host of other people. Movies are made by the projector at the back of the theater!"

Until someone steps into the dialectical octagon (xitter space) and epically owns @Benthamsbulldog with facts and logic I think analytic philosophy comes out on top

So is the Great Analytic-Continental Smackdown of 2025 done now? Do we know who won?
