We want to learn about current practice for antibiotic duration for Community Acquired Pneumonia hospital admissions, and the shortest duration people would feel comfortable with. Please can you fill out this short survey monkey poll? Thank you! bit.ly/Short-Course-A…

Agree, ITU nurses in particular are so close to their specific patients in their work and meticulously caring by vocation the stress must be huge and deeply felt. They should be better rewarded to reflect it.

This 👇 But it’s not just doctors - nursing and AHP staff hugely affected too

Many thanks to @pssld_official and @helpatologist for the opportunity to present at their 15th Annual Congress, on the ICU management of #ACLF. While the APASL, EASL & AASLD definitions differ, ICU management should be the same for all cohorts when organ failures ensue

1/13 Why does adrenal insufficiency (particularly adrenal crisis) lead to hypotension? I don't think of glucocorticoids as "pressors" and yet when they're lacking patients are at great risk for shock. Let's have a look.

Given that we work with our fabulous trainees every day, I suppose we have to ask: If 72% have failed, are we training them well (in my view, we are), are they good enough (in my view, the majority are) or is there a problem with the exam? I'll leave you to decide

Joint statement from the Faculty and @RCoANews following the release of the FFICM OSCE/SOE examination results yesterday. Once again, our sincere apologies to all concerned for the delay and confusion caused. ficm.ac.uk/statement-foll…

The RECOVERY Data Monitoring Committee reviewed data on patients randomised to convalescent plasma vs. usual care. The preliminary analysis based on 10,406 randomised patients with 1873 reported deaths shows no significant difference in the primary endpoint of 28-day mortality.

1/This account was created in the summer purely to celebrate good news stories and positive feedback about our unit. We were proud of our team and how they had responded to unprecedented challenges in the first wave of COVID. Criticism should not be anonymous and is not our role.
