2022 Christmas Lecturer Professor Sue Black joined us on Twitter for a live Q&A about her work
Excellent example of how to mislead people.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened 🥲 It's a wrap on the 2022 #XmasLectures! Please join us in saying a massive "well done" to our Christmas Lecturer, Sue Black 👏 How great was she?!
Did you know? The pattern of veins in our hands differs so much from person to person, some of those veins don't even have a name. Huge thanks to Ricki Boswell-Challand from @LancasterUni for giving us *checks notes* a hand 🙄 #XmasLectures
I'm sure I recognise number 2 from somewhere... 🤣
Getting the most reliable memories from eyewitnesses doesn't look like what we often see on crime shows. Huge thanks to Charlie Frowd from @UCLan for showing us this leading-edge technique to produce images of suspects! #XmasLectures

In the #XmasLectures we learnt how forensic investigators find and analyse evidence. Tonight, we'll see how it holds up in court, as the Ri turns into a courtroom and Sue Black faces a real-life KC. The audience will decide the fate of our trial 🧑⚖️ 8pm on BBC Four/iPlayer.
