Happy Petrov day!

September 26, 1983, the world was saved. On Monday, take a minute to remember that fact. Thank you Stanislav Petrov! lesswrong.com/lw/jq/926_is_p…

#DerApotheker 🥷

Flat. Because 70% of the Earth is water and that water is Non-Carbonated. Haha

Hmmm. I just had a bizarre experience, involving a global news organisation and a trillion dollar corporation. (I got caught in the middle, so... owch.) It’s not the sort of experience the people involved usually talk about in public… so I think I’ll talk about it in public. 🧵

#Luetzerath

I've been sick for a while. First Covid, then something like the flu, then a cold. I'm fine again and back! Learning #Haskell continues :-)

It looks like if you bombard Earth with photons for a while, it can emit a Roadster. hah

Puh. #Mikrozensus beendet.

🧑‍💼 I often see a question about finding a #Haskell job. So far, the best working strategy I know is: 1. Subscribe to @haskellweekly and watch /r/haskell periodically. 2. Apply for every job that appears. 3. You'll find a Haskell job eventually.

but where do you go from there? how do you get jobs? people will learn anything that pays the bills

#Haskell is really bad at marketing 🥲 Hundreds of people still believe the "PhD requirement" myth. I've successfully taught Haskell to people with **zero** math or CS background. Please, enough with this PhD nonsense 🙅

I'm not learning #Haskell for the first time, but it's the first time I'm really serious about it. Also, it's the first time I think I truly understood #Monads, at least in this context. Thanks to @ChShersh's excellent fourth lecture :-) youtube.com/watch?v=12D4Y2…

So what is "return" in #Haskell? It's basically the opposite of "<-". At least in the I/O-#Monad. As far as I know.
