100% Heathland & chalk grassland are both sensitive, globally-important habitats. Pick-up the poo & drop it in a bin. It really is very simple. #TakeTheLead #HelpTheHeaths
What's the scoop with picking up poop?! Leaving your dog poo can make rare species found in lowland #heathlands (which thrive with low nutrient soils) vulnerable. The excess nutrients facilitate grasses outcompeting the beautiful #heathers. #2020EBE @sdnpa
Elephant hawk moth from an old bunch of flowers and house plants 💐 Sad this will have to disappear soon 🦋 @savebutterflies @Britnatureguide @AshWhiffin @Buzz_dont_tweet
For anyone who couldn’t make it to our spring meeting in #Knutsford this year our chairperson Brian has written a round up of the day and all the fantastic speakers 👌 #TeamDragonfly 🐉 british-dragonflies.org.uk/content/spring…
So a great friend recently told me she wasn't sure what to do in her garden & found the advice available quite overwhelming and confusing. So I decided to set up an account for easy gardening tips that will make your garden great for wildlife! Check it out @BuzzingGardener
One of the UK's most exotic looking moths will now be starting its flight season. #MothsMatter The Emperor (Saturnia pavonia) flies throughout April and May, inhabiting a variety of habitats, including heathland and bogs. butrfli.es/EmperorMoth_ Photo by Iain Cowe
Can you get us to 60,000 followers this #April? Retweet and help spread awareness of butterfly and moth #conservation. A big shout-out and thank you to all of you who already follow, support and share sightings with us - keep them coming! 💚 Brimstone (G rhamni) by K. Bednarska
Flowers flowers everywhere, but not a drop (of nectar) to drink. Sadly most daffodils have little or no pollen or nectar for butterflies and bees. Now if these were muscari (grape hyacinth) it would be a blue sea of buzzing bees and early spring butterflies @savebutterflies

Well I never. Just had a partridge walk across the path in front of me! I've regularly seen pheasants here, but never a partridge. Anyone else seen them around here? #spring #cowplain #horndean #springwatch

Just looking at the #landEastOfHorndean development. predicted increases #NO2 and #PM25 and #PM10 predicted at a number of houses and the local @HazletonCommon , #horndean. #cowplain It's a car centric development, we need alternatives!
4/1 13:50 : 4 Waxwing : Emsworth. Found 4 feeding on berries in the Sussex Brewery Car park. I think this is technically in Sussex but they flew into Hampshire air space a few times. Still present at 15:30pm.
"Walking on a heath can be very deceiving. To some it may look quite flat & uninteresting but when you start to spend time there & learn about the wildlife that makes the heath its home, it becomes a whole community in itself." ow.ly/Wrr230mYAgL @Love_plants @DorsetWildlife
I understand that there are some concerns about the proposed #development of #PadnellGrange and the #infrastructure, including drainage. The grange pretty well flooded tonight, ditches full, and the stream.? Well... It had already gone over the top of the bridge. #tempestavenue
Fantastic article by @isabella_tree in the @guardianeco about the importance of re-wilding the UK's Landscape - a practice that is often forgotten. A practice that also provides habitat for so much #wildlife #rewilding @RewildingB amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
