THREAD. The recent New York Times article on cop television shows furthers a frightening ignorance in liberal circles about "community policing." It's important to understand why the NYT article is so dangerous.
So many people across the country working hard to transform the way we think about how to keep people safe. Specially out most vulnerable. Grateful for the opportunity to continue to learn about how this work is being done in as many places as possible!

Really gives the game away here. He fully admits that a ward office cannot do work like tree trimming and pothole repair itself, and that all he’d actually do is send some emails. No plan to address the actual issue - austerity budgets underfunding and understaffing city services
