Can we maybe not do the thing where we defend antisocial behavior? Kids keep getting shot when these things go down. The reason Millennium Park has ridiculous security is because a kid lost his life at one of these “trends”.

This article fails to mention that: 1. This is not new-they were just called a different name in 2012 2. That neighborhoods have been purposefully disinvested in and kids have needed more activities, programs, & investment in for years

Not sure how we hold onto power in this city when the actual “working class” hates our guts.

I gotta be honest, this result surprised me. I guess that shows what I know. Jason Dónes was the CTU-backed candidate, and he really didn't have any base of support outside Logan Square.

Having a 9/11 truther as the president of the school board seems like a bad thing, but that’s just my opinion…

Great job, everyone. Fantastic work all around.

Reverend Mitchell L Johnson was a lawyer, but is no longer he was disciplined and disbarred supremecourt.ohio.gov/attorneysearch…

So Ronnie Reese acted like the same Ronnie Reese that everyone has known for years?

Our story has been updated w some updates on Reese’s tenure, including a recent incident in which his staffer was fired after taking off work bc of a flood, FOIA records show:

I swear a majority of the people I’d go to punk shows with growing up became either conspiracy nuts or full MAGA.

Perfect Marathon Day today. Also, the Bears seem to play the best when I can’t watch them.

We voted for you to have control of the city and schools and you haven’t provided a cent of new funding yourselves! All you’ve done is promise to load up the credit card so the next generation of students and teachers pay for it instead!

Deeply troubled by all the people now “deeply troubled” today. Who only seem to care about our school system when they can use it to attack public education. Why were they not deeply troubled that our schools have been underfunded, under staffed, & unsupported for generations?

Could we please stop referring to the guy who washed out of the classroom after a few years as a “teacher”?

In Econ and financial literacy, I teach that short-term, high interest “payday” loans are bad, fiscally irresponsible, and essentially should not be an option. Why does the school teacher in charge of the city not know this?

Firing Pedro Martinez is totally going to make the district’s budget problems go away.

Many such cases.

The George W. Bush era really did produce better protest music than the Trump era. I’m sorry to say it.

Unfortunately, the vote against the infrastructure bill is one of the biggest factors in Cori's loss (and a major factor in Bowman's loss too). I understood the logic at the time, but in retrospect, symbolic opposition like that is a bad strategic move and gains us little. (1/3)

Look, whatever gets the job done.

Stop. Committing. Unforced. Errors.

CTU seeks to lower its property taxes, while union president escalates conflict with Gov. Pritzker dlvr.it/TBGfjj

I hate that stretch so much. So nice to see this.

I don't think anyone really believes the state has much cash floating around. Someone's going to have to raise taxes to fund CPS, and trying to get Pritzker to do it for you isn't going to work.

Here’s what we mean when we say Springfield and Governor Pritzker owe $1.1 billion dollars to Chicago Public Schools.
