Sometimes #LTCOmbudsmen wear multiple hats. For years, that was the case for Kirsten Bouthier who worked as an attorney while serving as an ombudsmen with our program. No longer working as an active attorney, Kirsten still wears many hats by serving 3 areas in the state!
In 2023 "141 of the nation’s nearly 15,000 skilled nursing facilities met the [RN] and [CNA] standards in the draft rule [...] And those proposed staffing requirements are less stringent than federal recommendations [of] 2001 despite residents having increasingly complex needs."
