It’s good for Biden to dig the spurs into Ukraine’s reform effort. Corruption burdens many of its institutions. But Russia's fans are trying to block aid by portraying Ukraine as fundamentally corrupt top to bottom, which it’s not. We should be careful not to forget nuance.

I wish I knew who this journalist in Borodyanka was in April 2022 so I could show 'em the cat coordination. Buy then I picked up my own cat and forgot all about it for like a year and a half.

I like reading pro-Russian quislings struggle to make sense of my articles that are a little more complicated and not entirely flattering to an aspect of Ukraine. They can't understand why a newspaper would run a story that doesn't flatter the country it's in. It's actually sad.

I'm pretty sure Twitter suppressed me hard starting in the second half of last year, which is why despite having 30k followers, less than 2% of them saw my posts in their feeds. I don't know why I was targeted but I probably won't be using twitter anymore

Just saw an apt description of the US: "fifty developing countries in a fur coat, larping as a developed country"

It's insane how some very deluded and hateful people think that the wrong side won WW2. But if you were to ask me the same question about the Napoleonic Wars, I'd have to give it some thought. I'd gladly sacrifice the 1812 Overture and things named after Wellington.

Holy smokes, I made it into a Perun video, now I can retire on a very high note

The Ukrainian armed forces overhauled how they pay combat bonuses to be fairer to front line troops and to save much-needed funds. The principle is basically sound, but Ukrainian soldiers claim the execution's been pretty bungled kyivindependent.com/ukrainian-sold…

Front-line medics near Bakhmut, the main hotspot of the war, are under enormous pressure as Ukrainian soldiers’ casualties mount due to Russia’s seemingly endless attacks. kyivindependent.com/national/i-wor…

Just the time to send the drone strike. Like we did that one time. Remember?

Wait a minute.... WTF is this? 👀

Thank you @ConklingAnna for the great photos from the trip.

The Donbas battlefront meanders for over 1,000 kilometers through a land that has not known peace since 2014. Five kilometers from the front line, our reporter @IgorKossov met with the 1st Tank Brigade, which is bracing for harder battles in Donbas. kyivindependent.com/national/celeb…

This would mean that Ukraine's intelligence directorate wasn't BSing in January when it said Russia had like three consecutive large strikes left in the tank and now it has to wait a while to make enough missiles to try again

This might be the more important story about the latest large Russian missile attack. It was three weeks after the last one. That is a very long time, and reveals probably that Russia actually lacks the material for an effective sustained campaign.

I hope the Ukrainian command really, really, really knows what it’s doing in Bakhmut.
