Major agency bosses have called for a pause in the merger vote to allow for a proper consultation. Why rush such an important vote? @APPC_UK independentappc.co.uk/blog/four-majo…
Wondering how to vote on the proposed takeover of the @APPC_UK? Here is reason number 3 to support an independent APPC - it's unique complaints procedure
All these Public Affairs Practitioners want a strong independent @APPC_UK. Support our campaign? Let us know and we can add your name.
The APPC is a self regulatory body that has single handedly built a culture of transparency and ethical lobbying in the UK . In this, It has punched way above its weight.
The @PRCA_UK has a track record of punching above its weight while sadly, the old APPC had the expertise but just didn't have the critical mass to do so. The merged body will better represent PA practitioners and has teeth.
I received a tender yesterday which stated any respondents must be an APPC member. @APPC_UK is a well recognised and respected standard even outside of public affairs and we shouldn't lose this.
Good morning! If you are considering how to vote on the @APPC_UK merger, read our second reason to support a strong, independent APPC - to ensure public affairs practitioners continue to receive the best training
Reason number #2 to vote against the @APPC_UK takeover - the proposals discriminate against non PRCA members
And heres the first reason why you should support an independent APPC. It's about keeping the 'gold standard' for public affairs practitioners
Reason number 1 why you should vote against the PRCA takeover of the APPC. It's not a merger
APPC vice chair @Emma_Petela sets out a powerful case for retaining an independent APPC
Thanks for your support
I strongly support @IndependentAPPC, as do my colleagues. Proposed merger with PRCA fails to take into account unique nature of PA vs. wider PR industry. Present system already guarantees high ethical standards of self-regulation. An answer to a problem that doesn't exist.
I think you mean Q&A - it’s not a debate when the panel violently agree
Looking forward to chairing lobbying industry debate with @Ingers1975 & @paulbristow79 in Westminster this eve - should be lively...
Genuinely shocked that a major change to the APPC code has been agreed to, if the takeover goes ahead, with absolutely no discussion with the management committee or members. Not very democratic.
Michael Burrell: I am very unhappy to see such an important announcement about how the ‘merger’ would operate being made without any prior consultation with the APPC mgt cttee. In the past all such code changes and their practical implications have been extensively debated
